摘要：Of the dental books that appeared during 1955 none is more important to dental bibliography than this Indice. It is the result of the enthusiasm of the librarian of the Argentine Dental Association, Dr. Margarita Muruzabal, and a hard working indexing committee. All are practicing dentists who have been concerned about the incomplete indexing of the dental literature in Portuguese and Spanish that has existed in the past. Volumes for the years 1953 and 1954, and probably for 1955, are already in preparation. Whether the earlier dental literature will be indexed later is not indicated. That would be a considerable undertaking even for the most ambitious since the periodical literature that would have to be considered covers more than seventy years. The book literature, though less extensive than that of Great Britain, France, Germany, and the United States, goes back to Martinez' Coloquio Breve y Compendioso sobre la Materia de la Dentadura y Maravillosa Obra de la Boca published in 1557. At least 222 different dental periodicals have appeared during this period. Mortality has been high among them, however.
