摘要：This small handbook is a welcome addition to the all too meager literature of union catalogs. In it, Dr. Leendert Brummel, Director of the Royal Library of The Netherlands, and for many years associated with the development of the two excellent union catalogs maintained by that library, has undertaken the first general survey of union catalogs since Robert Downs' geographically more limited survey in 1942 of union catalogs in the United States.
