摘要：iARLY in 1959, the staff of the Harvard Medical Library reached the decision that a major rearrangement of its collection of periodicals and continuations was in order. A temporary alleviation of the space problem in the crowded bookstacks provided an opportunity to accomplish this, and the staff set about to develop the guiding policies for a proper arrangement of serials in a rapidly expanding and heavily-used research library.
