摘要:On a recent visit to Israel I spent a most rewarding evening hour in the Medical Library of the Jewish National and University Library in the company of Dr. Curt Worman, the Director of the University Library, of which the Medical Library is a part. The bright and cheerful interior of the Reading Room with its many current medical and biological foreign periodicals displayed prominently around the room belied the somber outward appearance of the old but solidly built structure only a rifle-shot away from the old city of Jerusalem. In point of fact, the windows of the building were still protected by piles of sandbags, and there were some bullet-holes in the walls around the windows.
