摘要：In the small hours of Saturday morning, 22 September 1962, Mrs. Perkins suddenly and unexpectedly became ill. During her previous twenty-two years at the Yale Medical Library, she had missed only one half day because of illness, but now she rapidly became desperately sick. Her course continued to worsen and early on 26 September 1962 she died. Even those prepared for her death by knowledge of the hopelessness of her illness found the event, when it came, to be unbelievable-almost unacceptable. It seemed inconceivable that this gay, vital, and vivacious lady was no longer with us.
