摘要:Much has been written about computerizing library procedures with serials usually being the first procedure in libraries to be mechanized. Many have no doubt become discouraged because computer time is expensive and sometimes even hard to get. We have worked out a system that gives us many advantages we did not have before and takes about one hour of computer time a month for approximately 1700 currently received titles and gives us monthly bindery notices and lists missing issues. We can now get printouts of the following in a relatively few minutes: classified list of journals, currently received titles, noncurrent titles, titles by language, by source, by expiration date, and a daily list of journals received. This last list can easily be cumulated into weekly and monthly lists.
