摘要:Robert Schorer, M.D., Chief Librarian of the School of Medicine Library of the University of Cologne, Germany, died suddenly and unexpectedly on September 9, 1969. Dr. Schorer, whom members of the Medical Library Association will remember meeting at the second and third International Congresses, was born on March 3, 1921, at Bamberg, Bavaria. He received his medical degree in 1952 and, after several years of medical residency, entered the Bibliothekar-Lehrinstitut of Nordrhein-Westfalen at Cologne, where he passed his State Examination for Librarianship in 1959. Soon thereafter he was appointed chief librarian at the Medical Faculty Library at Cologne. This Library acts as central collecting and lending library for foreign medical literature in Germany.
