摘要：Any union list of serials, especially an inclusive one such as this one, is a step forward toward the coordination of library services, as the various American Regional Medical Libraries are proving. The first edition of this union list was published in 1931, and contained the holdings of eight cooperating libraries. Now, the fifth edition, which covers the holdings of sixtyone member libraries of Japan Medical Library Association, contains information on 6,650 non-Oriental language periodicals, including 116 Russian periodicals. Bi- or multilingual periodicals using Japanese as one of the languages are excluded from this compilation. Information for each periodical includes: title of the periodical, place of publication, libraries holding it, volumes and issue number, and bibliographical history.
