摘要:RECENT years have brought great changes in treatment philosophies and in attitudes toward the mentally ill. In California new concepts of health care delivery for the mentally ill resulted in the passage of the Lanterman-Petri-Short Act in 1967, and later, in the closing of several state mental hospitals, with a great reduction in the number of patients in those remaining. These changes made it necessary for professionals concerned with the care of the mentally ill to reexamine their roles and adjust to changing conditions and demands.
