摘要：This year, the MLA leadership has taken a look at where we are going in terms of what we hope to accomplish in the last half of 1979 and the first part of 1980 and what we will probably need to cope with during the rest of the '80s. During the summer, the board of directors, headquarters staff, and committees formulated their objectives for the 1979/80 association year. The final document consists of 225 objectives covering such diverse subjects as headquarters personnel practices, finances, association structure, bylaws, membership, legislation, continuing education, certification and recertification, scholarship, publications, the annual meeting, standards, research, oral history, and relationships with other associations and institutions. Objectives range in complexity from revising the Committee Chairman's Manual by including information on conducting surveys to improving the eligibility guidelines and approved mechanisms by which instructors are selected for the continuing education courses.
