摘要：This short title catalogue of works printed from 1701 to 1800 in the History of Medicine Collection of the National Library of Medicine is a very useful addition to NLM's series of special century catalogs. Upon first examination, in spite of the explicit title statement, the entries seem strangely and sadly abbreviated. But when the catalogue is studied carefully, and its scope and inclusiveness (25,000 items) realized, the need for brevity to maintain a convenient size and format can be appreciated.
