摘要:Who could better embody the spirit of a true pioneer than the 1980/81 Medical Library Association president, Dr. Gertrude Lamb? From her birth in a log cabin the omens were clear, and they were most auspiciously fulfilled when she introduced and persuaded others to adopt the clinical librarian concept. What more tradition-breaking innovation has the medical library field experienced than taking the librarian out of the library and integrating that person as an active member and accepted colleague of the health care team? What could have been more effective in changing the traditional passive image of the librarian to that of an initiator?
