摘要：MEDICAL librarians have long been aware of the difficulties of keeping up with the many new journals being published, selecting those appropriate for their collections, and finding enough funds to subscribe to them. A collective review, published in Nature [ 1], of the noteworthy journals in science which had appeared over a period of thirty months provided an opportunity to assess the degree withwhich medical libraries had been successful in acquiring these journals on a regional basis, and the extent to which they were being covered by Index Medicus.
