摘要：THE TRADITIONAL role of the hospital medical library is to acquire and disseminate information to the hospital staff. However, the increased emphasis on promoting health and on making the patient a partner in treatment has given the hospi-tal library the opportunity to assume a position of leadership in consumer health and patient education programs.
