摘要:Recently there has been much concern regarding the use of forest resources in Australia. Proposals have been made to governments that would safeguard the forest environment but add to the costs of forest and logging industries. An analysis of the short-run effects of such proposals using the ORANI general equilibrium model suggests that downstream wood-using industries and the economy in general would suffer small declines in output but that activity and employment in the forest and logging industry itself may increase.
