摘要:The North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) combines countries with deep economic differences in a process of trade liberalization, and this experience was unknown worldwide. The contrasts between Mexico and its other two North American partners are striking in terms of their agricultural structures and this is particularly so between the Mexican and the U.S. corn subsectors. This difference has lead some analysts and politicians to predict that with NAFTA, corn production in Mexico will tend to disappear and hundreds of thousands of Mexicans will be displaced from the rural sector.
