摘要：In recent years, there has been growing interest in cost-benefit analysis of alternative measures for the control of foodborne disease. However, the application of cost-benefit analysis is dependent on the availability of reliable data on the incidence of specific foodborne diseases and the effectiveness of alternative control measures. Whilst it is acknowledged that official statistics are a satisfactory indicator of general trends in the incidence of foodborne disease over time, they are an unreliable measure of the actual number of cases at any point in time. There is little published data on the effectiveness of alternative control strategies.
