摘要:Human resources are critical in production agriculture, especially to the extensive operations found in the western United States. Farm and ranch owners, their family members and cooperating neighbors provide substantial labor to agricultural operations. However, hired employees provide most agricultural labor. While agricultural managers and operators readily acknowledge the importance of laborers in day-to-day operations, few have any formal training in the management of these critical resources. Furthermore, the ever-changing landscape of regulation and oversight by Federal and state agencies makes it critical that the resources be managed to comply with relevant standards.
