摘要:The Philippine duck industry is dominated by smallholder production. At present, about 99 percent of the demand for duck products is met by domestic production. However, it is envisaged that as trade liberalisation continues, the Philippine duck industry will face increasing competition from overseas as well as from other products. Continuing survival, and growth, of the industry depends on its ability to compete on a globalised market, which, in turn, depends on efficiency in the production and marketing systems relative to competitors. The research objective is to provide an overview of the industry and identify industry issues.
