摘要：Family farms are of major importance but also the most numerous entities involved in the organization of agricultural production in Serbia. Due to the development of the economy on the whole, including agriculture, family farms have been effected by dynamic and complex socio-economic as well as demographic changes of which the process of differentiation according to various criteria (income earning, size and distribution, number of total and active household members on the farm, farm size, production resources at disposal, production output and structure, etc.) played the key role. The data of the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia based on the 2002 census on the population, households, lodgings and farms, statistical bulletins, reports and internal documentation were used in order to analyze the importance of family farms which are of crucial importance in the development of the Serbian agriculture.
