摘要:Sociological studies have tended to concentrate on the awareness stage in the adoption process to the neglect of the remaining stages. In an attempt to examine the role of the trial stage in the adoption of super-phosphate topdressings in the Clarence Valley, a survey was made of 42 farmers. From the history of superphosphate use on each farm, a distinction between trial and immediate adoption is attempted. It is concluded that as the farming practice becomes more widely used, the initial farm area fertilized increases, the change from trial to adoption accelerates, and the need for a trial stage appears to diminish.
