摘要：Video segmentation is the first step toward automatic video processing such as browsing, retrieval, and indexing. Many algorithms and techniques have been proposed a few years ago. They can cover the topic of video segmentation from different angles and it is beneficial to review the most important properties of them in brief in order to clarify the subject and find out the latest challenges and drawbacks. In this paper, the important parameters which are involved in video segmentation are discussed and video shot detection systems are compared together.
