摘要：It is generally accepted that accident rates in industry, agriculture. construction and transport in developing countries are at a several times higher level than in the industrialized countries. This paper makes a case for addressing the occupational health and safety concerns of Ghanaian workers. It posits that current legislation in this area does not meet the standards of a modern workers' compensation system. It also draws attention to the need for useful information to guide policy and support legislation that focus on multiple strategies of injury prevention, control, treatment, and rehabilitation to reduce the incidence, health care costs, and lost productivity associated with work place injury.
