摘要：Rule 12 of the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure gave the Supreme Court Advisory Committee more drafting problems than any other rule. Professor Orfield, a member of the Advisory Committee, traces the rule's development through its drafting stages, analyzes the case law which preceded it, and studies the courts' treatment of the rule since its enactment.
