摘要:An essay is presented on the so-called “Catholic Question” in American politics based on a speech by then-Senator John F. Kennedy delivered to the Houston Ministerial Association in 1960. It reflects on Kennedy's speech during his presidential campaign and provides an overview of the changes in and relations of Christianity with other religions in the U.S. It also discusses anti-Catholicism in the U.S. and the concerns on electing a Roman Catholic as U.S. president.
