  • 摘要:Parents are our best allies in supporting the overall goals of the elementary reading program. Research clearly indicates that parents' involvement with children's reading development is a prominent factor in promoting children's academic success (Allen and Freitag, 1988; Melton, 1985; Rich, 1985; Smith, 1988). In serving as models for their children, parents' reading behaviors impact on children's attitudes toward reading. When parents frequently read "just for the fun of it," children view reading as a valued, recreational home activity (Demos, 1987). When parents transmit the view that reading is vital to one's development, children carry these values into school.
