摘要:Listeria monocytogenes is an important food-borne pathogen and is widely tested in food, environmental and clinical samples. In this study, 50 food samples were analyzed for the presence of Listeria spp. through Singlepath® Listeria rapid test after selective enrichment stages. Moreover, following the pre-enrichment and selective enrichment stages which were performed through using 1/2 and 1/1 Fraser Broth respectively, isolated typical colonies streaked onto PALCAM agar were identified. Listeria spp. was isolated from 42% (21/50) of food samples. L . monocytogenes was the most prevalent species with 20% (10/50) followed by L . innocua with 16% (8/50). Colour changing depending on esculin breakup in Fraser Broth could be misleading to reach a final decision. While different Listeria species was obtained as a result of inoculations into PALCAM Agar in different enrichment stages, only in pre-enrichment or selective enrichment stages L. monocytogenes were also isolated. Results have shown that standard analysis methods must be carried out completely.
