摘要:This study was undertaken to investigate suitability of black grape varieties of Kalecik karası , Carignane and Syrah grown in Experimental Vineyard of Pozantı Research Center of University of Cukurova for wine production. Chemical and sensory results showed that composition of Syrah is a more suitable for wine production compared to Kalecik karası and Carignane . Furthermore, the wines from Syrah was richer in terms of colour , more body and aroma from a sensory characteristic point of view compared to others, and had the characteristic organoleptic properties of Syrah wine. It can be concluded that Syrah variety grown in Pozantı is suitable for quality red wine and should be commonly grown in the region.
