摘要:Effects of four different pre-waiting time on the quality and storage life of the Starking Delicious variety apple were studied. The samples were separated into four lots. While first lot was immediately placed in cold storage, the other three lots were left to stand for 6, 12 and 24 h at room temperature prior to storage. It was determined that the changes in weight loss, flesh firmness, pH, soluble dry matter, titratable acidity, ascorbic acid (vitamin C), reducing and total sugar during eight months of storage in a commercial cold store at 0.5 ± 1 ° C. The results showed that pre-waiting time had a significant effect on apple quality and storage life during eight months of cold storage, particularly between immediately stored samples and samples left to stand for 24 h prior to cold storage.
