摘要:Dairy factories generate a major amount of waste. The milk processing operations resulting in the loss of by-product, sanitation activities, and product losses are the primary factors contributing to the organic waste. Turkish Republic of Environmental Agency sets the limits of Biological Oxygen Demand, Chemical Oxygen Demand, Oil and Grease, and pH in the wastewater generated by dairy plants. It is necessary a very strict wastewater management program to not exceed these limits. The main goals in waste management are to reduce the amount of water used in a plant and to reduce the amount of waste discharged from a plant.
