摘要:This study was conducted in Kıbrıs and Bayındır villages of Mamak area of Ankara to investigate taking breast milk and beginning supplementary foods of children, aged 0-36 months. A total of 210 children were studied. Their length of 82.85% and weight of 78.10% were on the normal limit. It was determined that breast milk was given 65.71% of children immediately after birth, breast milk was weaned before 6 months in 20.00% children and 19.52% of the children were suckled longer that 12 months. “Child not accepting breast milk was given the main reason for weaning breast milk before 6 months and “child refusing to give up breast milk” was given the main reason for sucking the child longer than 12 months. It was determined that supplementary foods were begun to children with breast milk for the first months after the birth and yoghurt, fruit juice, biscuit, cow milk, tarhana soup, blanchmange and vegetable soups were given most frequently during the first 6 months
