摘要:This study was carried out with using two different potatoes varieties (Escort and Plants) and two yeast strains (S. cerevisiae Rasse XII, S. cerevisiae Narince-3) in order to determine the possibilities of using potatoes as a raw material for ethanol production in Turkey. Turing this study, in the liquefaction phase Permamyl 60 L and in the saccharification phase AMG 200 L were used as enzymes. After fermentation, samples were distilled and separated to three parts as head, medium and tail samples by fractioned distillator. The composition of samples were analysed by gas chromatography. According to the results, methanol levels of samples were found between 5.20-60.55 mg/100 ml, the levels of n-Propanol, i-Butanol, n-Butanol, i-Amyl alcohol were found between 140.09-247.13, 36.33-120.08, 3.56-9.71, 58.62-293.50 mg/100 ml respectively. Maximum ethanol yield were obtained as 66.90% (v/v) (96.30% of theoretical yield) by using S. cerevisiae Narince-3 and Escort potatoes variety which contains high starch level.
