  • 摘要:The purpose of the present research is to investigate the challenges faced by primary school principals in curriculum management. A qualitative research design was employed to answer the research questions. Data was generated by means of open-ended interview questions and non-participative observation to provide a rich description and explanation of the challenges that principals face when managing the curriculum in their respective contexts. The research findings revealed that the school principals face a number of challenges during curriculum management, such as a lack of knowledge, resources, unmotivated educators and a large workload, among others. Research findings, discussions and recommendations are made. There is a need for a strong training intervention in school leadership and governance to enhance the capacity of principals. The department should form partnerships with higher institutions of learning and experts in different fields to improve the quality of workshops and training offered to school principals.
