摘要:In this report we aimed to present an atypical mine injury on a thick snow layer. A 21 year-old man was brought to our hospital because of a mine injury where there is a 50-60 cm snow layer. Initial evaluation revealed a closed calcaneus fracture. The other signs were unremarkable. The patient was managed conservatively and fully recovered 6 months later. We did not encounter in the literature about a closed calcaneus fracture due to a mine injury. We concluded that a thick snow layer has a protective effect on mine injuries and this effect was responsible for such a clinical pre- sentation in our case.
