标题：Heterotopic pregnancy following ovulation induction by clomiphene citrate with positive fetal cardiac activity: A case presentation and review of the literature.

摘要：We aimed to present a case of hetero- topic pregnancy following ovulation induction by clomiphene citrate in a primary infertile woman. The patient was admitted to our clinic with severe abdominal pain and vaginal bleeding. Transvaginal sonography showed the intrauterine fetus corresponding to 6 weeks and 2 days of ges- tation with cardiac activity and the extrauterine pregnancy in right fallopian tube at 6 weeks and 5 days of gestation according to crown-rump-length. Laparatomy was performed through a pfannenstiel incision. Complete salpingectomy was performed to the right tube. She was discharged on the 2nd postoperative day and intrauterine pregnancy resulted in a missed abortion 2 weeks later. If first trimester pregnancies of assisted reproduc- tive technologies and ovulation induction present with complaint of abdominal pain and vaginal bleeding, heterotopic pregnancies should be discarded.
