摘要：Mucocele is a rare disease occuring as a result of the distention which develops depending upon the mucus accumulation that apendix lumen blocks with the various causes. Approximately 25% of the patients with an appendiceal mucocele are asymptomatic. Treatment is surgical. But appendix mucinous cystadenoma may rupture during the surgery and leads to pseudomyxoma peritonei depending upon the mucin spread into abdomen. For this reason, the preoperative diag- nosis is very important for the selection of the sur- gical approach. Most surgeons prefer open surgery to laparoscopic treatment. We aimed to discuss a 51-year old case diagnosed mucinous cystadenoma in appendix who was operated for right adnexial mass.
