摘要：Abstract: Evaluation of systematically collected information about an event is the essential part of any activity. There are many kinds of evaluations that can be applied to programs, for example, goals-based, process-based, outcomes-based, etc. The Abstract Books of Balkan Military Medical Committee (BMMC) Congress, published annual- ly by one of the member countries in order to pro- vide a proper environment to share information and experiences is a measurable annual document including all kinds of presentations. This study aimed to evaluate all kinds of presenta- tions published in the abstract books of BMMC Congresses organized between 1996 and 2009. All abstract books were reviewed by four physicians to determine the number of published presentations. The total number of presentations (oral + poster) in all 14 BMMC Congresses was 6431 with an average number of 459.3 presentations per year. While the average number of oral presentations remains almost constant over the years, there was a wide variation in the number of poster presenta- tions that reflected also to the total number of pre- sentations. The majority of the presentations were case studies or case series indicating that sharing experience is the prominent feature of these con- gresses. Overall, BMMC Congress is a unique health activity that provides a platform not only to share professional experiences but also to improve social relations among military medical communi- ties of member countries.
