摘要：Dear colleagues, dear friends Editorial In this final issue for 2011 we present work in the field of Orthopaedics, Oral Health, Neurosurgery, Oncology and a very interesting review in the History of medicine. Our orthopaedic colleagues present their case regarding the importance of sensory reeducation of the median nerve following repair for a complete low transection. The correlation of lifestyle factors and socio-demographic characteristics with oral health is examined in the next article. Our spinal-neurosurgery colleagues from Bulgaria present a comprehensive meta-analysis of the various treatment outcomes for wartime penetrating spinal injuries and provide us with current trends and guidelines. The concept of Quality of Life, its different definitions given by different scientific bodies and all its aspects pertaining to the cancer patient are provided by our nurse colleagues in the next article. Lastly, a review on an outstanding medical personality of the 19th and early 20th centuries, Sir William Boog Leishman and his work in bacteriology and pathology. We hope they make for a good read!!
