摘要:Introduction: The main interest of this study is focused on the level of interaction between the perceived health level and the degree of health prevention policy applied by the Hellenic AirForce which compels the flying personnel in an annual health examination, whereas the ground personnel attends a similar examination every two years. Objective: Statistical analysis of crosscorrelation between health status and the degree of prevention (by the means of health services consumption) in a sample of the Hellenic Air Force personnel. Materials Methods: Calculation of cardiovascular risk score (Hellenic Score) and Body Mass Index in a sample of 190 individuals (92 pilots and 98 individuals from technical/maintenance air traffic control sectors) from 120 Flight Training Wing and statistical analysis of the level of correlation between health status and the intensity of medical prevention policy. Results: The level of cardiovascular risk depends positively upon the BMI value (p=0.009). The BMI value-overweight and obese is in statistically significant relation to the type of profession (ground personnel p= 0.004). However, the cardiovascular risk score does not seem to depend strongly upon the type of profession. Conclusions: In general, Hellenic Air Force pilots seem to keep a higher level of quality Health status and the interpretation of this result lies upon the policy of Health Prevention measures.
