摘要：Prevention and control of medical-care related nosocomial infections are of the top priorities in every medical facility. The problem of nosocomial infections goes along with medical activities, posing health and financial consequences of various dimensions. Current regulations, orders and recommendations of the President of Military Medical Academy (MMA) define the methods and means of control, together with the personnel in charge. One of the basic duties of every Head Nurse in Multiprofile Hospital for Active Treatment (MHAT) Sofia, MMA, is the active participation in the prevention and control of the nosocomial infections while respecting hierarchy subordination, during onset, registration and taking of measures according to the current hospital program. Preventive measures ensure high level of protection for patients, staff and visitors. Training of nurses and hospital attendants is a basic duty of the Head Nurse. Due to the severity of the problem posed by the nosocomial infections, constant work is required in order to match administrative measures and personal responsibility of the hospital employees.
