摘要：Solon of Athens (638-555 BC) is considered one of the emblematic personalities of Ancient Greece who lived before the Golden Age of Pericles. He is mostly remembered for his efforts to legislate against political, economic and moral decline of Athens and for his reforms, which set the basis of the Athenian democracy. The purpose of this article is to review his less well known views on Medicine and on human health. Solon is an ardent supporter of all in good measure (Ïαν μÎÏÏον άÏιÏÏον) and the balance between the human body and the spirit. However, like all his contemporaries, he mixes magical and theurgical views as far as the cause of diseases and their cure is concerned. Overall, his views recapitulate the holistic approach of human health that prevailed in Medicine during his time.
