They are facing damages mainly due to the anthropic pressures and to the severe drought this massif has been undergoing in recent years. The aim of the present study was to make a diagnosis on all of the biotope elements by means of a phytoecological approach. We found that a vegetation characteristic of the aridity of the climate and of the environment was settling in. Alfa (Stipa tenacissima L.) is progressing on damaged soils and its dominance-abundance ratio is getting more and more important on the thinnest slope deposits in natural environment (SDN). We discovered the presence of xeric species (alfa, diss, doum ), thereby explaining the degradation of the vegetation on the one hand and of the soil on the other hand.
