Recently, images from military satellites (acquired between 1963 and 1980) and an ASTER imagery (2003) enriched our data so that we can now analyse the phenomena over a period of 40 years. The spatial resolution of these imageries is fine enough, not only for measuring orientation and displacement of dunes, but also for a better understanding the dynamic of sanding over for the area studied (Hannabou sector, Tafilalet). Digital image processing, combined with good spatial resolution permitted us to have more robust measures concerning these orientation and displacements. In fact, winds coming mostly from the SW (locally named Saheli wind) generated an average displacement of about 15m/year in the NE direction. Furthermore, this study helped us emphasize the local origin of sands in forming dunes in this area.
