Evidence of this has come from temporal and spatial analyses of annual rain-fall in Ivory Coast, Togo and Benin. Chronological series of pluviometric indexes confirm a sudden drop in rainfall in the late sixties. Mapped out, the results show a distinct shift is isohyet curves towards the south, amply illustrating the regional extent to the phenomenon.
