摘要:Authors Pascal Handschumacher , Jean-Pierre Hervé , Georges Hébrard Programme « L’eau et la santé dans les contextes de développement » ORSTOM, BP 1386, Dakar, Sénégal. Page(s) : 219-26 Published in: 1992 Great hope for development has been pinned on the River Senegal Valley by all the local populations. Its past has been dotted with operations or various size and scope. However, developmental work has most certainly speeded up with the installation of two dams, Diama and Manantali. Be this as it may, these new projects raise fears as to the appearance or spread of water-related diseases. In a Sahelian environment, the ironically concomitant risk of water-borne disease raises the problem of the roles of climate and man in the existence of certain vectorial or intermediate-host diseases in the River Senegal Valley.
