Study of a monthly water balance of the various types of soils compiled over thirteen years made the estimatation of infiltration by deep percolation possible. These evaluations relate to the supply of the shallow water table and the deep confined water under the plain through the permeable coastal zone. The interannual recharge of the latter varies from 0 to 52% compared to the average volume of annual total rainfall received by this area located near the oceanic margin and overexploited due to the development of agriculture confronted with recurring periods of drought.
