The use of river water in irrigation poses a major problem of public health. The bad smells during dry periods, added to the irrevocable damage caused to the beauty of the site, are an attack on the environment and blatant disrespect of nature. À sampling design was established and river water was sampled to measure all its physicochemical indicators of pollution (DCO, DBO 5, OD, heavy metals, nitrates and nitrites, nitrogenized ammoniacals, phosphates, sulphates, chlorides, etc). Results showed the deplorable state of the medium and pollution, especially organic pollution, of the river water.
