摘要：En el artículo se exponen los resultados de una investigación, cuyo propósito era explorar los posibles cambios en la estigmatización de la lepra, a partir de la eliminación del tratamiento confinatorio. Dada la naturaleza cualitativa de la indagación, se presentan los testimonios de per sonas involucradas en el asunto: enfermos, médicos leprólogos y otros miembros del equipo de salud. Según sus percepciones, se podía concluir que en el marco del ac tual tratamiento ambulatorio persisten las actitudes de rechazo y la tendencia a ocultar la afección por parte de los pacientes.
