摘要：Los jóvenes en México, al igual que en muchos países latinoamericanos y del mundo subdesarrollado, afrontan el brusco cambio de la etapa escolar hacia la vida activa. Ésta les puede llegar sin que hubiesen terminado la primaria en muchos casos, incluso sin que llegaran a sentarse en un salón de clase. El truncamiento de la escolaridad es visible en el grupo de jóvenes en su primer empleo; además, parece que el propio mercado de trabajo efectivamente les cobra su ingreso a cambio de experiencia de trabajo, pues la remuneración de los jóvenes al ingresar a la vida activa es mucho más precaria que en las franjas más bajas de los trabajadores en todo el mercado laboral. Las diferencias por sexo son marcadas, pues aunque los varones obtienen su experiencia laboral mucho más temprano que las mujeres, ellas no necesariamente no lo hacen porque se queden estudiando, por el contrario, al rezago escolar que deben asumir por estar ayudando en el hogar, también se le suma el rezago activo reconocido que es marcado por incorporarse al mercado de trabajo después que el hombre
