摘要：Las remesas familiares han registrado un explosivo aumento en años recientes. Sin embargo, los autores sostienen que las cifras oficiales generadas por el Banco de México se sustentan en algunas ambigüedades conceptuales y muestran marcadas diferencias con otras fuentes de información (sobre todo de censos y encuestas, las cuales sí son congruentes entre sí). En consecuencia, los autores sostienen que no todos los recursos registrados por el Banco de México en el rubro de remesas familiares son tales. Además de ese tipo de envíos, las estadísticas del Banco de México están contabilizando otro tipo de transferencias privadas (relacionadas con actividades lícitas e incluso con actividades ilícitas).

However, the authors argue that the official figures generated by the Bank of Mexico are sustained in some conceptual ambiguities and show marked differences with other information sources (mainly censuses and surveys, which are coherent between them). As a consequence, the authors maintain that not all the resources registered by the Bank of Mexico regarding family remittances are so. Besides this kind of mailing, the statistics of th Bank of Mexico are assessing another type of private transfers (related to legal activities and even with illegal activities.
